There has been a dramatic drop in tourist numbers to the country following the latest military coup and hotel workers have already been laid off.
New Zealand director of the Fiji Visitors Bureau Paresh Pant says the Tourism Action Group, is now developing marketing and public relations strategies. He says the group is leaving the politics to the politicians and is concentrating on marketing Fiji.
The group will be approaching the New Zealand government to ask it to downgrade its travel advisory for Fiji. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade is currently advising against non-essential travel to Fiji.
Mr Pant says Fiji's tourism industry has bounced back from past coups and he is confident it can do it again.
New Zealand and Australia are Fiji's biggest tourism markets.
